The bible has much to say about faith. We will examine five top areas of faith from Scripture. We will also take a look at how each area relates to achieving our objective to receiving a much needed miracle from God.
What does Hebrews 11:1 say about faith?
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Let's start from scratch using this scripture as our foundation for obtaining a miracle.
We will use this as our example. So what is your hope? You first hope that if all else fails that when you die you at least go to heaven if that is in fact what can happen. Next you hope that once your eternal destiny is secured that you could at least live and survive dying from the terminal disease. Then if you can be somehow healed you hope that you can come up with enough money to pay off all your debts and have enough to live on while you find gainful employment or a business that will take care of your financial needs. If by some miracle this all can take place you hope to meet someone and fall in love again, but first you must feel good about yourself that you are not a loser anymore. This is your hope.
Faith is the substance or the piece of paper that guarantees you in writing that all you have hoped for is in fact a reality even though you can't see it right now. All you can see is all that bad things that are happening to you right now. So what do you do next?
The formula of faith is found in Joshua 1:8.
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
Let's put this scripture in perspective and in layman's terms. You quote the promise of God every time you have a negative thought pass through your mind with an attached emotion that if opened like an e-mail would unleash a bad virus of destruction into your life. For example, you have a thought that everything is bad financially and because you are out of work you will have to go bankrupt or call a consumer counseling service or at least hide from creditors. When you have this thought and you can feel that panic just creep up on you then you answer it out loud or under your breath by quoting God's promise such as, "My God shall supply all of your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19) That is making sure the book of the law does not depart out of your mouth.
Next you need to meditate in the Word of God day and night. This should be done shortly after you get up before you start your day and before you go to bed at the end of your day. Why? You want to start your day strong and you need to have your subconscious working through the night with the might and the power of the Word of God. Not only will you rest better while sleeping, but you will also find that as your rest answers can come to you because you are more in a relaxed state of mind. In addition, you need to visualize yourself as possessing what is promised from the Word of God. And never change that imagined thought to anything else no matter what kind of pressure you are under.
Finally, you need to do what the bible says to do. If it says to act a certain way then you do it. If it says to do certain things then you do them. Use the bible as a user manual for your life because that is what it is. If you do these things you will find success and good things coming to pass in your life. Your life will change for the better. But never expect it to be an overnight change. Just know and expect the change will happen and it will all be good.
So what three specific steps is there that if done over and over will produce results as far as making a miracle?
We can find this answer in Matthew 7:7. "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. Here is the formula of faith.
- Ask = Confessions or Affirmations
- Seek = Visualizing or Imagining
- Knock = Taking Action
When you combine all three of these things and consistently and persistently do them together over and over while being totally focused on the thing which you are in need of then you will create a miracle for yourself. But is that all that is needed? Not exactly, so here is some more.
You need faith and patience as found in Hebrews 6:12 and Hebrews 10:35 and 36.
"That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises." "Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise."
You need to combine patience with you asking and seeking and knocking. You need to keep at it for as long as it takes. How long is that? It is until your miracle is manifested. During the interim you will have the opportunity to think nothing is working and maybe I should stop or try something else. This will get in your way and ruin things for you. You need to hang tough and know that the process will work if you work the process out to completion. Do it and you will succeed if you don't quit. Your faith will see you through.
The next ingredient is found in 1 Corinthians chapter 13:2 and Mark 11:25. You can have faith to move mountains, which is reasonable to assume that if you can move a mountain with your faith that you could easily obtain the miracle that you so desire. But if you do not have love as your motivation your miracle will not profit you in any way. It also goes along with forgiveness. If someone has wronged you then you need to forgive them. I do not say that you need to continue to do business with them, but you need to forgive them from your heart and to make your forgiveness known. Is it hard to do? Yes it is. Is it necessary to do? Yes it is. And never do anything out of a selfish or self-centered motivation. Keep it in love all the way from start to finish.
Finally what will your results of faith be?
Let's look at Mark 11:24. "Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them." If you do what has been taught here you can rest assured that when you go to God and request a specific miracle to meet your need you will receive it. Why is this so? You have lined up your motivation and your desires with the Word of God. You have lined up your speaking and your thoughts and your actions with the Word of God. Essentially you have made yourself into a conduit or vessel that God can pure his grace through and into. And one thing about God he will keep pouring until you are overflowing with more than you could ask for or think of. Why? He does it because he loves you.
